What is "Begin with the End in Mind"

Begin with the end in mind – is 2nd habit. “Imagine this: Three years from now, you’ve passed away, and everyone you know is at your funeral. They’re there to talk about your life and what you meant to them. What do you want them to say about you?

It’s a bit sad to think about, but it’s also important. It helps you focus on what really matters. You start thinking about your relationships, the things you achieved, and what kind of mark you want to leave on the world.

Highly effective people have a habit of doing something important. They think about the end before they start. That’s our second habit: beginning every task with a desired outcome.

When you do something, whether it’s big or small, you plan it out in your mind first. It’s like making a blueprint before building a house. Without a plan, things can get messy and go wrong.

This habit is useful not just for short-term things, like planning your week or setting goals for a few months. It’s even more powerful for long-term planning. You can create a personal mission statement, a kind of plan for your life. You think about what you really want to achieve, the values you want to follow, and what success means to you. This helps you make good decisions and stay on the right path.

یہ عادت صرف کم عرصے کے چیزوں کے لئے ہی نہیں، جیسے آپ کے ہفتے کی منصوبہ بندی یا چند مہینوں کے لئے اپنے اہداف تعین کرنے کے لئے، بلکہ طویل مدت کی منصوبہ بندی کے لئے بھی زیادہ موثر ہوتی ہے۔ آپ اپنا شخصی مشن اسٹیٹمنٹ بنا سکتے ہیں، یعنی آپ کی زندگی کا منصوبہ، یا پلان۔ آپ سوچتے ہیں کہ آپ کیا حاصل کرنا چاہتے ہیں، آپ کن اقدار کی پیروی کرنا چاہتے ہیں، اور کامیابی کا مطلب کیا ہے۔ یہ پلان آپ کو اچھے فیصلے کرنے میں مدد فراہم کرتےگا اور آپ کو سیدھی راہ پر رہنے میں مدد فراہم کرے گا۔
