Human nature may lean toward tribal tendencies, but we have the ability to restrain tribalism under specific circumstances. Our goal is to control these instincts so that crucial principles like freedom, individuality, and property rights can thrive. A key starting point is reinforcing the family structure, a crucial defense against tribalism. Parents play a crucial role in steering their children away from the negative aspects of human nature, guiding them toward the remarkable ideals of liberalism and capitalism Cultural and political environments also play a pivotal role. While the miracle in England might have been somewhat accidental, the United States deliberately embraced it as a conscious choice. The Founding Fathers believed in the Constitution as the best defense for safeguarding the miracle. Upholding the Constitution’s values was seen as a way to check human nature. This is why they devised a written Constitution and set high standards for passing amendments, requiring two-thirds of both legislative houses to approve any amendment. However, the Constitution alone might not suffice to protect the miracle, evident from the creation of the administrative state despite constitutional safeguards during Wilson’s time. Ultimately, it falls upon everyday Americans’ dedication to uphold its ideals to ensure the Constitution’s preservation. This commitment holds immense importance. The American Constitution firmly established principles like liberty, equality, and capitalism. The founding of the United States stood as a triumph of political achievement and societal organization. But without safeguarding this miracle, there’s a risk of alternative outcomes where the West might jeopardize its own existence. |
